General Practitioner (Av Med optional) - RAF Henlow
Royal Air Force Medical Board at RAF Henlow are recruiting for a dynamic and resilient individual to take up the role of a part-time (Monday & Tuesday) Civilian Medical Practitioner within a small team to support Occupational Health Assessments to Royal Air Force personnel. We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Doctor within the department to carry out patient functional assessments and medical record administration in support to RAF Medical Board output.
Successful candidate will be undertaking medical examinations, clinical and administrative tasks such pre-board narratives to support the operational functions of the RAF Medical Board. In addition the candidate will be expected to carry out the following:
- Use effectively the electronic Medical Information System (DMiCP) and undertake clinical consultations.
- Liaise and assess patients from Defence Primary Healthcare Medical Centres and provide clinical handover to President of the RAF Medical Board.
- Serve as a Member of the RAF Medical Board, reporting to the President of the Board. He or she will work in a team and will be required to undertake the role, including preparation of the pre-Board clinical summaries and undertaking the examination of patients. There is also a requirement to provide occupational health advice by telephone, screen referrals and correspondence with General Practitioners at military medical centres.
- Perform administrative tasks as necessary including photocopying, faxing, scanning and typing where necessary.
The candidate will be required to be registered to the GMC register and GP or previous military experience would be advantageous.
