About the region:

Gisborne is in one of the sunniest areas of New Zealand with close access to great beaches, untouched indigenous forest and mountains and a wealth of outdoor activities. Gisborne district lies on the northeastern corner of the central North Island. The only city is Gisborne (population 35,000). Gisborne is about six or seven hours' drive from Auckland, three hours from Napier to the south and a little longer from Tauranga and Rotorua in the west. Famous for its beautiful coastline, densely forested mountain parks, surfing and fishing, and is also a centre for wine and agriculture.

The Doctors Te Whare Hapara is a family friendly medical practice located in the East Coast city of Gisborne. Our aim is to provide excellent healthcare and service to our patient community. We have a wonderful range of skills, experience and professional interests in our team. We are lucky to include in our team GPs with international experience adding professional depth and the ability to provide a greater range of treatment and services.

The practice is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Closed Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. There are 12 consult rooms and the patient management system we use is Medtech 32.

The culture of the practice is a collaborative one with support for clinical staff with our Clinical Director or Nurse Manager.  We have an experienced team of clinicians with a broad range of expertise and experience who meet regularly to support and review cases.
