12 month contract - Skiing, walking and surfing in Taranaki

You will be based in a progressive GP owned practice consisting of 4 GPs, some of whom are also from the UK. It Is a well-established practice in a suburban area of New Plymouth, in Taranaki on the West Coast of north island of New Zealand.
Patient care is based on GP-patient relationships that are personal, take a longer view of patient needs, and are highly patient outcome oriented.
The practice pride themselves on having a fun, sociable environment to work in.
The practice is located in a shopping centre with onsite podiatrist, access to an acute walk in clinic, skin cancer centre, minor operation theatres, Skin Cancer doctors and visiting specialists.
We’re looking for a doctor to work 7 sessions per week to cover parental leave from April 2019. The practice is open from 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
Patients are booked in at 15-minute intervals with no double bookings.
We’re looking for someone with suitable GP experience, either a UK GP qualification or experience from a comparable country.
The region is renowned for it’s flourishing arts scene and stunning gardens. Some of the art installations are built along the award winning 13km walkway, suitable for all members of the family, it takes you along the stunning coastline of New Plymouth.
The imposing Mount Taranaki is home to more than 200km of walking and hiking trails alongside biking tracks, a ski-field, cafes and accommodation.
Taranaki boasts year-round festivals, from music to surfing; international rugby matches and outdoor adventures. The coastline offers uncrowded surfing spots to cater for novices to experts.
New Plymouth stretches along the coastline with Mount Taranaki in the background. The region has a population of 75,000 with New Plymouth airport serving the local population flying to Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington. New Plymouth is equidistant to Auckland and Wellington, with a 4-hour drive time to both.
