Advanced Nurse Practitioner
At Virgin Care, we’ve created a working environment where everyone can really feel the difference.
It’s the kind of place where nothing’s too much trouble. Where our service is seamless. Where you’ll feel empowered, listened to, valued and where we’ll support you to bring your best self to work every day. And that’s just the beginning.
Since 2006, we’ve delivered innovative and refreshing health and social care services to millions of people by developing our own unique approach where our patients are at the centre of everything we do. And right now, we’re looking for Advanced Nurse Practitioners to join our Reading service to help us continue to change things for the better. The practice is both a GP Surgery with a registered list of 7,500 patients and a Walk in Centre for unregistered patients.
With excellent commuter links, our busy GP Practice and Walk-in Centre in Reading city centre is open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm (including bank holidays). This means that where possible, we can offer a variety of working patterns to fit in with your life.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team you’ll use your experience to work autonomously and flexibly, to guide care staff as appropriate whilst also feeding into the wider team of practitioners. This role offers you a real opportunity to care for patients and their families in the way that you believe is best, delivering our high service standards, sharing best practice, and actively improving the way we work.
This is an opportunity to put your Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification and Teaching/Assessing qualification (minimum ENB 998 or equivalent) to great use. You will also hold a non-medical independent prescribing qualification and be a First Level Registered Nurse with accredited training in chronic disease management and minor injuries. Experience of working in primary health care would also be advantageous.
We will also consider paramedics who are interested in making the transition to become a Advanced Nurse Practitioner via our Preceptorship training programme.
Strong communication and organisation skills, along with a flexible approach will ensure you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey.
So, how do we reward you for your hard work? Well, we offer a competitive salary and pension, lots of training and development, great perks including being part of the Virgin Tribe giving access to exclusive offers as well as discounts on Virgin products and services including 40% off Virgin Trains! All this and flexible working patterns that can help anyone perfect their work/life balance.
